Congratulations to everyone who completed Challenge #10! Some of you have been with us all along and some of you are new. We love having all of you! Lots of great photos were submitted. Here are this week’s Super Winners!
1. Lauren Stolzar seems to think that the church wasn’t originally intended to host a carnival! Maybe not, but…seems like fun to us!

2. This beautiful photo, contributed by -leethal-, was chosen as the super winner in the “polka dot” category. We love the dress, the colors, the composition… It’s playful and fun - exactly what photogamer is all about!

3. So many people fear getting lost. And others fear maps. And some fear asking for directions… cyenobite suggested this category AND won. It was a toughie, wasn’t it?

4. This photo of a blue stapler, submitted by anitacanita, looks like a whale! So cute. Doesn’t it make you wanna staple all the time? It wasn’t the only whale photo submitted this week…check this one out too!

5. inthesilence took this gorgeous photo of a classic game! The colors and bokeh set it apart! Don’t you wanna play?

BONUS:
Life IS beautiful, isn’t it? We agree with teubey, who has the phrase (in French) on the back of a bicycle! Quelle bonne idée!

Here are the Challenge #9 Super Winners who dared to go find small things and shoot them!

Sometimes photos are artistic compositions of color. Such is the case with this close up by TheFemGeek of bright wires with a black background!

Bugs were a favorite. OrphanJones shot this one with great boken. Bokeh, said like a bouquet of flowers is a word that describes the out of focus parts of a photo. This started as a cool photo of a beetle, but the distorted background and pretty colors all blobbed together make this shot extra special!
In the bug category, Phil Chapter appears to have shot the smallest living creature in the challenge!

Little cars were a favorite subject this week like this one by Tojosan.
MCV82 also shot this awesome bonus photo of a toy car with a real car.

It doesn’t get much cuter than this baby squirrel, shot by sharlr does it?

Teubey took this photo and this is about as small as it gets… I’m not even sure how small 100 nanometers is!
That’s it for small things super winners this week, but there are lots of great more in the winner list and the group flickr pool. Go check them out, leave positive comments, favorite the ones you like and we’ll have another challenge for you this weekend!

There was lots of creativity with the Photo Haiku challenge!!
Some were sweet, some were funny, some were just confusing!
This one, from Rachel-B, just plain rocked! What a great self-portrait!!

bought this in moscow
but hats make my head steamy
i’ll take it off now
And, once again, buttering up worked - check this from completelyknown…

What is spring’s haiku?
Has anyone an hai-clue?
The photogamers!
To see all the photos and haikus, check out the Winner’s Circle - it’s worth a gander!
Thanks to all for taking part in the fun!

Thanks to everyone who played this seventh round of photogamer! We have officially made it to 600 members! Herrealworld is our 600th photogamer! If you haven’t gone and looked at the group list, you should. We as a group rock the house! One thing that I’m noticing happening more and more is that photogamers are leaving encouraging notes and favoriting each other’s photo! This is so rad!
If you have friends you’d like to join the fray, you can go to the photogamer group page and click on invite and invite your friends to join. Playing photogames is more fun when you play with friends!
This week the challenges got you playing games like rockpaperscissors and videogames and got you out of the house to take 100 steps and find something low! We’re suckers for self portraits and we love it when photogamers take pictures of themselves and so when you took your own photo with a photo of yourself, it was like self portrait wonderfullness times ten! When we share our lives in photos, we get to know each other better. I’m looking forward to more challenges that will get us telling stories with our photos!
Without further ado, here are the Super Winners, chosen with complete subjectivity and partialness!

1. Play “Rock Paper Scissors.” -lethal- played rock paper scissors in the country! Despite loosing the round, the composition is great with a super diagonal line of grass in the background. The diagonals is a great design element!

2. Take a photo of yourself with an old photo of yourself. Since inthesilence only has photos in her flickr stream that are photogamer related, I have to believe that she joined flickr, just to play with us. This self portrait with an old photo is awesome. I love the look on her as a little girl holding the hose… It looks to me that she is enjoying the raw power of holding a hose and knowing she could get anyone wet! This one was really hard to judge. Check out all the photos in the photogamer group that are tagged “oldphoto” and enjoy them, favorite your favorites, and leave comments on the ones that make you laugh out loud!

3. Walk 100 steps and take a picture of from that 100th step. Honeyrider took a hundred steps and came up with these two photo of where she started and ended. You’ve got to click the picture to read the description of the photo for the back story!

4. Take a close up shot of a video or computer game. Who remember’s Q-Bert? Did you know they actually had a Q-Bert TV show? L. Marie brought the memories of jumping around on a pyramid of cubes rushing back!

5. Find something in public that is less than 6 inches tall and document it. Craftygoat got so low, she took it underground. I like the way that there is a house peeking over the horizon! (Sidenote… I accidentally posted this pic instead of craftygoats… It’s an awesome photo too, go check it out!)

The bonus this week was to find an old school photobooth and take a picture of it. These are getting rarer, so this took some effort! Global Hermit found one and took one and got silly. We like the photos with the silly faces!
The next photogamer challenge goes up on Thursday!

This week’s challenge was to go somewhere new and take pictures of and then tag them tall, small, play, point and up. For a bonus, you could search out the number 7 and take a photo of it. This weekend, I was in Washington DC for a conference. Going out and getting photos in a new place was a great break from the business of my weekend.
Everyone’s photos this week rocked! If you see a photogamer photo that you like, make sure to leave a positive comment or make it a favorite. Comments and favorites are encouraging and supportive… and it’s fun!
Here are my picks for this weeks super winners!

VAZanne found this tall memorial. The people in the foreground show how huge this is!

Typewriter took this photo of small Empire State Buildings. It’s like a mini city!

Completelyknown took this photo of two gals “just hangin” at the beach. Play is just radiating out of this photo. Everyone should hang upside-down!

Stuartwhite points to an interesting wall. The way this turned out, it appears that the pointing is shattering the wall… superpowers!

Twisteduterus pointed the camera up and got this great shot. I love this composition as a brilliant abstract artwork with the overlapping circles.

Phil Chapter found this bonus challenge 7 hiding in a tudor-style house. Nice work!
Stay tuned for more photogamer challenges. You can stay tuned easily with twitter, via rss, or if you put your email address in box in the sidebar, you’ll get email updates!

Technically, nijocamus’ photo satisfies the requirements for “green”, “camera porn”, and “fancy pants”, AND “view from my window”. So it’s getting a super winner award for creativity and super-coolness rather than one for an individual category!
1. Break something (before and after).
Cinediva broke a twenty! Great multiple meaning of break in this one. And there are two types of “green” to boot!
1. Camera Porn.
Eudaemonian’s camera porn was bold! It caught our attention right away. Hmmm.
3. Fancy Pants. This was a challenge just cuz it sounded funny. “Fancy pants” - ha! But when it came to DOING it, it proved to be slightly more difficult than expected! Maybe that’s why we got so many photos of jeans. This one wins just cuz…well…monkeys are awesome!
4. Green. This is a gorgeous photo with all sorts of Irish-ness to it! And it made me want sodabread! Thanks,
vermilionink, for pointing out that the recipe was in the NY Times last week!
Here it is!
5. View from your window. This submission from
completelyknown is creative and purdy. So he wins!
6. Bonus Bonus Bonus: Create a self portrait of yourself looking really disgusting! Okay, first of all…Hilary looks most disgusting of anyone. I don’t think people can argue too much with that.
So the super winner is
orphanjones. I’m not saying he’s disgusting so much as he is BRAVE. This happens to all of us, right? But how many of us would post what it looks like to flickr? One. And to be nice, here is a link to a picture of him
looking hot. He deserves it.
Thanks for playing! See you all again soon!

WOW! Another great week in photogamerdom! Congrats to this week’s Super Winners!!
1. Something you love. There were a lot of photos of your kids and dogs in this category, which (of course) is fabulous. But one sweet heartstring tugger was Anna Scott’s photo of her 64 year-old teddy bear. How sweet is that??

2. Somebody making music. Tons of guitars and keyboards! This one, by VAZanne, wins because of it’s originality! Very cool.

3. Something in use that should be thrown away. Lots of interesting stuff here! The winner is sparktography, who is trying to throw away a nasty habit. Let’s all support him, shall we?

4. A sunset. This one was hard!! It’s one thing to see a beautiful sunset and pull out a camera. Quite another to be told to take a pic of a sunset, when weather or location may prevent anything terribly exciting. The winner is livininfrostytown, who captured an Alaskan sunset!

5. Water. There are so many ways to take pictures of water! No one specified the shape or form in which the water must be! We like this one from funkymunky1515. Ikea ice cube trays rule!

6. An animal you don’t see every day. Xilia wins this one for her photo of a fruit bat because, well, just look at it! Gorgeous.

So, as a reward for completing the entire challenge AND properly tagging your photos, we’re gonna highlight some of our favorite photos in each category! They could be chosen for a number of reasons…quality photos, humor, creativity, etc. Congrats to the Super Winners of Challenge #1!!
In the “small dog” category, the winner comes from mommy peace. Not only was this a great shot of an adorable puppy, but she takes care of dogs and puppies who need homes. How great is that?!

The second category was “reflection”. The award goes to David Reeves for his puddle reflection of the Flatiron Building in NYC. I know…totally unfair advantage to live in NYC!

Category number 3 was to snap a shot of one of those crazy non-cell phones that some of us still remember. Okay, the award goes to Hilary’s dad (hiladad). Before you whine about this, listen to why! He joined Flickr specifically to play photogamer! AND he took a pic of a nice old phone and still remembers his phone number (3-9-J) from when he was a kid. Good enough?

Next up was a particularly difficult challenge for some…to snap a shot of a stranger in a hat! We were particularly impressed by sparktography’s patience as he waited in the bitter cold for a stranger in a hat to pass by so that he could complete all five challenges in one photo! Check out his photo for all the details!

Finally, we asked that you all take a photo of something you made! So many creative people on Flickr, but we knew that already, didn’t we? Many of you made US hungry by showing food and drinks that you’d prepared. Yeah…thanks…Hilary probably gained a couple pounds on Sunday. The winner, though was completelyknown for a really beautiful photo of a miniature rustic chair that he made.

And those are the super winners of Challenge #1. Congratulations, everyone!
